Hi everyone, wanted to give a weather update. Rained last night, sprinkled this morning. Air is cool and inviting…makes you want to get out and enjoy everything because you know winter is on it’s way! The temperature is 62 degrees at 1:22 pm. and it is still cloudy. As I left this morning a deer ran by the rear of my car, I am glad he was fast…
You know Fall is one of the most beautiful times here in the Canyon!!!

Weather report, sunny, cool, slight breeze in tree tops…69 degrees at 8:23 am….beautiful. Leaves on the Arizona Cypress trees are turning gold and falling softly into the water below, then they float lazily down stream until they are caught….
It is quiet in the canyon except for the squirrels, who are very busy scurrying around and chattering loudly at us as we go by…
The Mexican Blud Jays are also loud this am and flying around buslily as if they are going to have to meet a deadline soon….maybe winter?????

It is 79 degrees here in Ramsey Canyon and soon a young couple will become man and wife in this beautiful setting…..Everything is perfect for it.
I went to the Apple Festival this morning at the Folklore Preserve, it was great fun, apple everything. I made two apple pies to take, there was a display of 8 different kinds of apples, you could taste each one if you wanted….lots of apple goodies, learning activities and fun activities for the children. Karen even made apple fritters in the solar oven…..It will be going on again in the morning. I will stop by to help her before church. Tomorrow is the day to be thankful for all that we have….

Just one mile down is the hiking trail for Brown Canyon, and we decided to take a ride down there at 6 am this morning….wow, what a beautiful area after all the rain we have had….the entry way was a beautiful meadow of Arizona Sunflowers, mixed in were some violet, ed, orange, yellow and white wild flowers…
As we drove up we saw the sun popping up over the mountains and the sleeply little town of Sierra Vista below…there was still water flowing across the path in some areas and lots of birds, insects, and many different types of butterflys. I wish I knew what their names are…
As we drove off the butterflys were zig zaging across our path as if to say, “where are you going so soon?” It was a great way to start a Friday Morning..

I spotted a flock of Gould Turkeys by the creek yesterday arount 4 pm. They have returned to the forrest for the fall and will be here through October…the time is 7:42 here in the canyon, it is 50% outside. I have seen the whitebreasted nuthatch, the Bridled Titmouse, many Mexican Blue Jays, and the Bullock’s Oriole, and the beautiful Acorn Woodpecker.
In the evening you can hear the Screech Owl…it is wonderful to hear..the family of owls came and rested near the Hummingbird Cabin one night, to the great delight of our guests there.
